MEET JEFF ZENGER

A LIFETIME OF SERVING

Rep. Jeff Zenger is a husband, father of four, grandfather, contractor, and small-business owner who represents Forsyth County in the North Carolina House of Representatives. 

 

Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Baltimore by a single mom, Jeff went to work at 12 years old, helped keep food on the table, and bought his first house at 21. In Fells Point, he turned his rowhouse into a refuge for troubled teens and later spent 13 years involved in community-focused youth outreach. 

 

In 1996, Jeff and his wife Julie moved to Lewisville, North Carolina, where he built a successful construction and development business and they raised their family on a small farm. Jeff served on the town Planning Board and four terms on the Lewisville Town Council, earning a reputation as a practical, solutions-oriented leader who respects homeowners, taxpayers, and responsible growth. 

 

Since his election to the North Carolina House, Jeff has delivered real results for his district: funding for four new fire trucks, investment in local roads and infrastructure, acquisition of historic Shallow Ford for a public park, and new civil service protections for firefighters and law enforcement. 

 

Jeff believes elected officials should fight for the people who elect them. His priorities reflect the values of North Carolina families, seniors, small businesses, and law enforcement.

Cost of Living, Affordability, and the Economy

High cost of living is putting heavy pressure on North Carolina Families. Young families and seniors alike are being priced out of the communities they call home. As a small business owner, Jeff knows firsthand how excessive regulations and big government are making the problem worse. In Raleigh, Jeff has a track record of cutting regulations to bring costs down and make essentials for every family more affordable, from buying the week's groceries to purchasing and owning a home.

Support for Law Enforcement & First Responders 

Jeff has lived where crime isn’t an abstract, and he’s seen what happens when society turns its back on the men and women who keep us safe. Jeff delivered major wins for public safety, including funding for four new fire trucks and new civil service protections for police and firefighters. He will always back the blue — not just with words, but with policy and support they can count on.

Lowering Healthcare Costs 

Healthcare costs continue rising and families are paying the price. Jeff works with leaders in the medical field to support reforms that expand choice, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, increase transparency, and protect community hospitals so patients can receive care close to home.

Faith, Family, & Freedom

Faith is the foundation of Jeff’s life and public service. Jeff and Julie have served in ministry for decades, leading missions and service projects around the world and right here at home. Those values guide his votes on  strengthening families, respecting parental involvement, and protecting the freedom of people to live out their values.

Defending Personal Liberties

Jeff believes people should be trusted to make their own decisions without unnecessary government interference. He supports the Second Amendment and responsible gun ownership, while also standing up for personal freedoms like privacy, parental rights, and freedom of belief. At the end of the day, Jeff’s approach is simple: government should protect rights, not micromanage people’s lives.
